Chill was born as every changeling on planet frieza, on exactly the same day as Frieza. He was the son of King Colds sister Frozlin. As a child he was spoiled by his mother and father. His powers exceeded those of both his cousins: Frieza and Cooler, untill Cooler transformed. Chill was taught how to fight by his own uncle: king Cold.

When he reached the age of six he had to prove himself as a worthy family member. So he had to go with his father to a distant planet to exterminate a race that had opposed King Cold for quite some time: the Zhors. This had proven to be a good idea, as Chill showed his value on a proper manner at that time. He even learned how to make a supernova, which was certainly at his fathers delight. Yet they appearantly underestimated the resistance which the people of Zhor seemed to be. Thus sadly his father died at this mission. Fueled with hate Chill unleashed his terrible revenge and seemed to be unstoppable. He wiped out the entire populace of that planet except for one specimen, his loyal underling Zohrod.

After returning home he led a life of luxery and was again beeing pampered by his mother. Yet at his sixteenth birthday his mother was killed during a mission and left him under the wing of his uncle King Cold. He was being trained by the best men possible. On one day he had a quarrel with Frieza about the fact that Frieza destroyed planet Vegeta, while Chill eagerly wanted a strong saiyan to serve as his second underling. This quarrel resulted in true hatred between the two changelings. Chill had sworn to kill his cousin one day for his vain attitude towards him.
